Frequently Asked Questions

You've Got Questions. We've Got Answers.

Post-frame construction isn’t something most people buy twice. If you’re looking at a pole barn, a shouse, or a commercial build for the first time, you’re going to have questions. These are the ones we hear most, answered straight.

QUESTIONS

What areas do you build in?
We’re based in Saint Augusta and work across central Minnesota, typically within about an hour of home. That covers St. Cloud, Brainerd, Alexandria, Little Falls, Willmar, Foley, and the communities in between.
A pole barn is a post-frame structure built for storage, equipment, livestock, or work space. A shouse, short for shop-house, combines living quarters with a working shop under one roof. A barndominium is similar but leans more residential. All three use post-frame construction; the difference is how you plan to live and work inside it.
It depends on size, site conditions, and what’s going on in it. A basic storage or equipment barn runs differently from an insulated, finished shop with electrical. We give straightforward quotes based on what you actually need, not a number that changes at contract time.
Yes. We build shouses and barndominiums across central Minnesota for people who want a custom living space that works as hard as they do. If you’re on acreage near Brainerd, Alexandria, or anywhere in the St. Cloud area, we can walk your property and talk through what makes sense.
That’s most of our work. We’re comfortable with setbacks, soil conditions, and the kind of sites that require a builder who’s done it before. Rural acreage, lakeshore lots, farm operations; we’ve built on all of it.
Yes. We work with small businesses, agricultural operations, and local contractors on commercial post-frame and metal building projects. If you need a shop, storage facility, or operational building in central Minnesota, we’re worth a call.
We handle both residential and commercial remodels, inside and out. That includes interior updates like kitchens, flooring, and living spaces; full exterior siding replacements on homes and outbuildings; structural additions; and updates to existing pole barns or post-frame buildings. If you’re not sure whether your project is a fit, just ask.

Timeline depends on size, permits, and time of year. Most projects move from a signed contract to a finished build within 3-4 weeks. We’ll give you a realistic schedule upfront, not one built around telling you what you want to hear.

Yes. We handle permitting as part of the project. Requirements vary by county across central Minnesota, and we know what’s needed in the areas we work.
A kit ships to your driveway. We show up on your property, look at the land, talk through your plans, and build it ourselves. If something comes up mid-project, you’re calling us, not a 1-800 number. For people in Willmar, Little Falls, Foley, or anywhere in our service area, that matters.
Reach out and tell us what you’re building, where the property is, and what you’re trying to accomplish. We’ll take it from there.
